Heartfelt Creations Alumni Blog Hop

Welcome to the April Heartfelt Creations Alumni Blog Hop. If you have arrived here from Emilia's blog, you are on the right track. Please carry on to Sarah's blog to finish off the hop. Leave comments all along the way to be entered for chances to win a $25 Heartfelt Creations gift certificate. Winners will be announced here Saturday, April 30th at noon (EST) with instructions to claim the prize.

I wanted to create a masculine card since I have so few in my card stash. I was loosely inspired to use the general layout of a postcard because the students in my grade 8 English class are making postcards from a novel character, writing brief summaries of a critical scene to another character - so a vintage postcard came to my mind quite naturally.

I used a lighthouse image from High Seas as my main focal point and coloured it with warm grey copic markers. I have highlighted areas using an opaque white gel pen. The sentiment is from Moments with You which is a go to round sentiment stamp. I made this Moments with You card using this set, and it remains one of my favourite projects.

I trust you have been truly inspired by the wonderful art work featured on the hop, and many thinks for your kind comments.

stamps; moments with you, high seas (heartfelt creations)
paper; black, khaki cardstock (worldwin), pattern paper (heartfelt creations)
ink; tuxedo black memento, espresso truffle mementoluxe  (tsukineko)
accessories; copic markers (copic), white gel pen (sakura), black brads, hemp twine (unknown)

This is a very inspiring design. I love that you went for a masculine feel... however it could be used for anyone. Love those little knots. TFS

Beautiful card! Not only is it good for a man, but I think any girl would like it too because everyone loves a light house and the beach. Love those knots you added too... very clever!

So glad to see a masculine card because I think we all tend to be low on those in our handmade stash. I often start out with the idea of making one, but it ends up a feminine design! The monochromatic combo and lighthouse theme are so relaxing and perfect for a guy.
